Two Girls

Helloooooo readers! Our names are Amy & Marissa and we are so happy you stopped by our little blog! We started this blog after discussing for the millionth time how we always have so many opinions and advice to share and it was such a shame to keep it all to ourselves. How could two girls who love to write and pass along ideas to others not have a blog? So after many, many discussions about how we would present all of this to you and what all we would write about, we came up with this. A forum for two girls to offer up their two cents on life, style, health, creating a home, and everything in between. After all, we are only twenty-something. We’ll be learning quite a bit along the way and we’re happy to share all that we discover with you! Before you dive in… Learn more about us and how we met below.

Amy: Hi, guys! I am a single, twenty-something. I graduated from the University of South Florida in the spring of 2012 and since then I’ve been finding my way as a brand new elementary school teacher. I recently became the mommy to a precious labradoodle (who looks more lab than doodle) named Savannah. I am a self-proclaimed Pinterest addict and I am a firm believer that it is impossible to leave Target empty-handed. I own way more journals and stationary that one human being could ever possibly use up. I am obsessed with anything cozy… sweaters, scarves, hot cocoa, blankets, reading nooks, fires… and I live in Florida! I love road trips, country music, board games, and movies. I especially love observing and experiencing all that this crazy world has to offer. I can’t wait to share my comments on this whole life situation with you.

Marissa: Hey, y’all! I am a twenty-something living in the sunshine state with Travis, my wonderful husband of two years. I graduated from the University of South Florida in the fall of 2012. Since then, I relocated from the big city to the country. I am a former city girl and current southern belle in training. Right now, I work as a serials processor in a library. Basically, I handle old, dusty books and log their information into a computer system all day. I hope to one day go back to school to become an elementary school librarian. But then again, I am still young and like to have possibilities. I am a mommy to two adorable pups: Bella, an American bulldog, and Luna, a Rottweiler. I am a self-admitted “crazy dog lady” and I am slightly obsessed with my fur babies.   I enjoy baking, crafting, shopping, and other girly things.  I have a passion for nature and the environment. I can often be found with my nose in a book.  I believe that cupcakes are like duct tape... they fix everything.  I love learning and experiencing new things. This is a big world, and I believe that there is always something new to discover in it. I can’t wait to share with you my take on this crazy thing called life.

When Amy met Marissa…
We met in a children’s literature class at USF. I (Amy) had scheduled to take the class with my best friend and Marissa had scheduled to take it with her best friend. The four of us ended up sitting at a table together and got to know each other through group projects and discussions. Thank goodness we met then, because the next semester we found ourselves in a stadium-style class minus our original best friends. After talking more one on one, we realized that we had a mutual love for The Office, all things Disney, crafty projects, baking, people watching, and handwritten cards/letters. We also discovered that our so-called best friends weren’t true friends after all. So we bonded over our favorite things and venting and moving on… And the rest is history.
